‘Power of Peacemaking’ is Theme at West Hartford Women in Networking Meeting

West Hartford Women in Networking is pleased to announce that they will be joined by the Rev. Dr. Shelley D.Best, President and CEO of The Conference of Churches. She will be speaking about “Power of Peacemaking and The Gift of Gratitude” and the 224 Project.

Rev. Dr. Shelley D. Best is an inspirational speaker, artist and humanitarian who has inspired and empowered the lives of thousands of faith and neighborhood based leaders during her 20+ years of service. As the President & CEO of The Conference of Churches, her most recent visionary endeavor is “The 224,” a vibrant, 30,000 square foot community development conference center designed to provide integrative health services, retreats, business incubation, and contemplative coaching. These services have been designed with a heart for leaders and spiritual seekers in an inspiring space featuring the work of local artists.
Dr. Best is an advocate, coach and change agent. Her education includes a Master of Arts degree in Religious Leadership from Hartford Seminary, a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Hartford Seminary. She serves as executive minister of Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church.
Dr. Best travels internationally for enrichment, coaching and speaking engagements. Her expertise in leadership development, health equity, spirituality, and interfaith understanding is sought after by government, university, non-profit and progressive leaders. With a newfound passion for yoga, she devotes her practice to the mission of personal and community transformation.
