At St. Timothy Middle School in West Hartford, Principal Tara Bellefleur is putting her all into her job, literally.

She will be running in the NU Hartford Half Marathon with the goal of raising money to purchase new desks and chairs for her entire school. The cost is estimated at approximately $18,000 for the new desks and with an extremely generous matching pledge made by the Martin Foundation, the school hopes to reach its goal.

The students, faculty and parents are all rooting for Mrs. Bellefleur and many will be out at the marathon in school colors and logos to cheer her to the finish line!

This is the first half marathon for Mrs. Bellefleur in several years and at age 60 she is a true inspiration to her school and community!

Principal Bellefleur spoke to NBC Connecticut on Sept. 25. To watch a video of that news story, click here.
