The Mandell JCC in West Hartford will present ‘Award Winning Fiction: A Conversation with Avi Patt and Wallant Award Winners.’

Avinoam Patt, Philip D. Feltman Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford will discuss the changing landscape of American Jewish Fiction with Wallant Award Winning writers, Eileen Pollack, Joshua Henkin and David Bezmozgis Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT.

The New Diaspora, co-written by Avinoam Patt, presents fiction by writers whose work has been considered or selected for the prestigious Edward Lewis Wallant Award. The collection celebrates the continuing vitality and fresh visions of contemporary Jewish writing.

This Mandell Jewish Book Festival event will feature authors, David Bezmozgis, The Betrayers, 2014 Wallant Award winner, is a writer and filmmaker, Joshua Henkin, The World Without You, 2012 Wallant Award winner, is director of the MFA program in Fiction Writing at Brooklyn College. Eileen Pollack, In the Mouth, 2008 Wallant Award winner, is a faculty member of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at the University of Michigan.

The year-long Mandell JCC Jewish Book Festival includes a lineup of dyanmic authors and a variety of topics. Tickets to this Jewish Book Festival event are $20 per person and tickets are $95 for the entire series.
