Get A Free Taste Of Sonia Plumb Dance Company’s New Choreography — and Free Tastes of Delicious Food from Café Louise, Too!

(Submitted Release) Sonia Plumb Dance Company will be giving a “taste” of their latest choreography — along with tastes of delicious food from Café Louise in West Hartford — at “A Taste of Sonia Plumb Dance Company” on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hoffman Auditorium at the University of Saint Joseph at 1678 Asylum Avenue in West Hartford.

The event is free of charge and open to the general public.

“A Taste of Sonia Plumb Dance Company” is part of an ongoing series of “tasting” events where audience members can get a sneak preview of the Company’s latest work in progress. Plumb’s new choreography will be seen in “Privacy Settings,” the Company’s latest dance production, which will performed this Sept. 19-21, 2014 at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT.

The cornerstone piece in “Privacy Settings” explores the connection between our self-obsessed world of selfies, social media, reality TV, and the technology that had made the NSA overreach part of our lives. This new dance piece asks where does privacy begin and end? How do we respond to watching and being watched? When is it “cool” and when is it “uncomfortable?” And, with all this surveillance, do we ever really know the full story?

Free food is provided by Café Louise, which is located at 1156 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford (www.CafeLouise.com) and is the place to go for catering private and business events. Café Louise has been providing wonderful food and excellent service for over 21 years.

The University of Saint Joseph, located at 1678 Asylum Avenue in West Hartford (www.USJ.edu), helps students explore and expand their potential in a welcoming community that offers personal attention and challenging academic programs to individuals who want to succeed and make a difference. Sonia Plumb Dance Company is currently the artist in residence at the University of Saint Joseph.
