State Rep. Derek Slap (D – West Hartford, Avon, Farmington) will meet with constituents in two upcoming public events in West Hartford.

“There is no matter more pressing right now than the state budget – or lack of one,” said Rep. Derek Slap.

“People with disabilities – students looking for summer jobs – the homeless – and many others have already been impacted since the fiscal year began on July 1. I am ready to vote right now – on either a so-called mini-budget or a full two-year budget. No legislator should be unavailable to vote because of a vacation – that’s simply unacceptable.”

Slap will be available to discuss the budget, and any other issues of concern to constituents, at two upcoming “On Your Corner” events in West Hartford.

The Sunday, July 23 event will be held at Crown Market, 2471 Albany Ave., from 3-5 p.m. On Sunday, July 30, Slap will be at Stop & Shop at 1235 Farmington Ave., from 3-5 p.m.
