This Rosh Hashanah, Farmington Chabad invites children and families to tune in to the sounds of the New Year like never before at the Shofar Factory and Sound Lab – an immersive, hands-on holiday experience – on Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 3 p.m. at Winding Trails.

Children will have the chance to create their own shofar. They’ll saw, carve, and drill their own ram’s horn into a shofar and decode its meaning, bringing ancient tradition to life. Children will also track sound waves in real-time using sound-activated bracelets during the Soundwave Sync-Up.

The event continues with sweet and creative activities: at the Honey Cake Creation Station, kids will bake their own treat in a shofar-shaped mold, and they’ll craft Shana Tova Bubble Prints to share New Year wishes with family and friends.

“Rosh Hashanah is more than a holiday. It’s a chance for our children to connect deeply with the sights, sounds, and sweetness of their Jewish identity,” says Shayna Gopin of Farmington Chabad. “This program turns powerful traditions into unforgettable memories and gives kids a hands-on way to understand why the shofar’s call is so special.”

The program helps children explore the deeper messages of the shofar through games, teamwork, and creativity. “When kids hear the shofar this year, they won’t just listen – they’ll feel,” adds Gopin.

All are welcome to attend.
