Rotary Club of West Hartford’s signature event will be on June 20.

Claws for a Cause Final

Submitted by: Christine M. Looby, Rotary Club of West Hartford

On Saturday, June 20, the Rotary Club of West Hartford will present its eighth annual “Claws for a Cause” fundraiser on the grounds of the American School for the Deaf, 139 North Main Street in West Hartford.

The event is a LobsterFest that will run 5-8:30 p.m. featuring family-friendly entertainment.

The Rotary Club of West Hartford raises much-needed dollars for causes including the Hillcrest Avenue Neighborhood Outreach Center, Gifts of Music, and The Town That Cares Fund.

Each year, they join forces with the Noah Webster House to provide every third grader in a West Hartford school with his or her own dictionary.  On the global level, Rotary International is committed to ending the spread of polio and with providing clean drinking water.

This year’s LobsterFest will directly benefit the “Angel Eyes” Project, a movement to raise the funding needed to equip central Connecticut’s Neonatal Intensive Care Units with 72 webcams so that families can bond with their babies even when not physically present.

Tickets are $50.00 per person until June 1.  After June 1, tickets will be $55 per adult; attendees may select either a lobster or steak dinner.  Tickets are $10 per child for either a hot dog or hamburger dinner.

Tickets are available now at www.westhartfordrotary.org.  No tickets will be sold on the day of the event.  Fountainhead will perform live at the event.

For more information, please call Event Chairman Robert Kor at 860-521-2806 or visit www.westhartfordrotary.org.
