On opening day the excitement at Saint Brigid School (SBS) was evident everywhere. During the summer months, led by Principal Shevon Hickey, faculty, administrative staff, and the advancement department worked tirelessly on preparing the school and students’ families for a smooth transition on opening day. With a significant number of new incoming students, indeed, all of the extra attention to every detail was well worth it.
“There’s such a sense of community here. We know we made the right choice for our daughter. She was just as excited as we were for her to start school,” stated new pre-k3 parent Janice Hinds Lindo. “The first time we visited Saint Brigid School, we liked their pre-kindergarten academic curriculum and everyone made us feel welcomed.”
Standing at the entrance door greeting students and families as they walked in the building, Principal Hickey said, “The strength of Saint Brigid School is both our families and faculty. When they’re happy, I’m even happier! It was wonderful seeing the smiling faces of all our new and current students. I couldn’t be prouder than to be Saint Brigid’s principal.”
Saint Brigid School is proud to celebrate over 50 years of strong academics, Catholic values and enriched cultural diversity. SBS is a full-time faith based educational program committed to educating the needs of students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. St. Brigid is located at 100 Mayflower Street in West Hartford, Connecticut.
