A young team, that has been together since fourth grade, took a tough quarterfinal loss to St. Rita in last year’s state tournament, and has been working hard to fight their way through back up. Saint Timothy JV Basketball, which is now composed of all sixth grade student athletes, finished their Archdiocese season with a 16-1 record. They are led by head coach Miguel Boodram and assistant coach Jose Matias, who are both in their third season as coaches with the program and school.

The Tigers defeated St. John’s of Fall River, Massachusetts with a final score of 50-30 in the quarterfinals, and then went on to defeat Our Lady of Mercy of Providence, Rhode Island, with a final score of 35-29 in the semifinals.

“We unfortunately lost to St. John’s of Boston in the New England Championship game with a final score of 43-36, Boodram said.

“We placed second in the 2026 New England Regionals. Truly a great battle by our sixth grade JV basketball team. We captured a Hartford Deanery Regular Season Championship, A Connecticut State Championship, and a New England Regionals Runner-Up.
