Seven Kingswood Oxford Students Named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Seven students from West Hartford’s Kingswood Oxford School, including several West Hartford residents, earned commended status in the 2018 National Merit Scholar Program.

Kingswood Oxford School received more good news from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The following seven students were named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Program:

  • Michael Goldschlager of Avon
  • Aparajita Kashyap of West Hartford
  • Harold Krause of West Hartford
  • Gabrielle Ruban of Farmington
  • Emma Smith of West Hartford
  • Varun Tankala of South Windsor
  • Patrick Taylor of Glastonbury

Recognized for their academic promise, 34,000 students in this country have been honored with this distinction. These students will not continue for the National Merit Scholarship awards, however, they placed among the top five percent of the more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2018 competition by taking the 2017 PSAT/NMSQT.
