Defeating the No. 3-ranked team in the state for Division III is no easy feat, but the Titans did exactly that Monday night – and in emphatic fashion. Hall skated to a convincing 7-2 victory over the Rocky Hill Co-op Terriers, highlighted by dominant team play and several standout individual performances.
In net, Matthew Bonner anchored the win with a stellar 30-save performance, reaching a major career milestone in the process. Bonner recorded the 1,500th save of his career and now sits just 90 saves shy of tying the program’s all-time record.

The Titans wasted no time asserting control. Just 2 minutes and 42 seconds into the game, Hall opened the scoring as Connor McHugh set up Benjamin Putnam, who finished the chance to make it 1-0. At the 6:45 mark of the first period, McHugh doubled the lead, burying a goal of his own off another setup from Putnam. Hall continued to pressure offensively, and Putnam factored in again later in the period to help push the lead to 3-0.
The Terriers responded late in the opening frame, as Riley Doty found the back of the net with 3:18 remaining to cut the deficit to 3-1 heading into the first intermission.

Hall regained full control in the second period. Dillon McDermott struck early to restore a three-goal cushion, and McHugh added his second goal of the night midway through the period, extending the Titans’ lead to 5-1.
In the third, the Terriers briefly answered with a goal early in the period, but the Titans quickly shut the door. McDermott scored again to swing momentum back to Hall, and McHugh completed the hat trick late in the period to cap the scoring and seal the 7-2 victory.

Following the game, head coach Colin O’Connor credited the team’s discipline and structure for the win.
“Our mindset going into this game was to play fast and take away their rush, which is their strength,” O’Connor said. “We wanted to make them beat two or three guys and really focus on getting to our forecheck, not giving them free zones once they broke out.”

Hall outscored the Terriers (12-2-0) in every period and controlled the pace of play from start to finish, pairing efficient offense with disciplined defense and strong goaltending to earn one of its most impressive wins of the season.
The Titans (9-4-1) return to home ice on Thursday to face West Hartford crosstown rival Conard (8-7 in Division II), with puck drop at 5 p.m. In the previous meeting between the teams this season on Jan. 10, Conard defeated Hall 6-3.
