A timely and free book talk, given by Dr. Reza Mansoor, will be hosted by First Church, West Hartford in the Auditorium space at 12 South Main Street, West Hartford on Nov. 2, 2016, from 7-9 p.m.

Hartford’s own Dr. Mansoor states, “I am dedicating this book to the youth of America of all faith communities that I trust will take us to a better place through education and the inspired values of understanding each other.”

This book is written to give the reader a perspective into the challenging times that immediately followed the terror attacks of 9/11, from an American Muslim perspective.

As challenges arose, it was  important to address the misinformation that seemed to be growing in the vacuum that was created in the absence of our input. Dr. Mansoor is the founding President of an organization, the Muslim Coalition of Connecticut- MCCT, that grew out of the ashes of the tragedy of 9/11, that was aimed at countering the fear through education. Dr. Mansoor is also President of the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford, Advisory Board Member of Muslim Student Association-CT Council. He is actively involved in the inter-faith community and provides ongoing didactic presentations on Islam.

Books will be available for purchase at the lecture. Free parking is available in the church parking lot (enter via Farmington Avenue).

Enter the Auditorium via the rotunda entrance. For more information contact Jennifer deSimas, [email protected] or 860-232-3893 or visit www.whfirstchurch.org/jp-webster-library/
