Arts for Learning Connecticut will host Sweat for the Arts, a high-energy community workout event featuring live music, on Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Viking Athletics, 433 New Park Avenue in West Hartford.
The event combines movement, music, and community engagement to raise awareness and support for arts learning programs that reach thousands of Connecticut students each year.
Participants will take part in a guided workout led by coaches from Viking Athletics while enjoying live music performed by Universal Sounds, a dynamic ensemble of professional Teaching Artists from Arts for Learning Connecticut. The event will conclude with a casual social hour, giving participants the opportunity to connect and celebrate the impact of arts education in local communities.
“Sweat for the Arts is about bringing people together around two things that energize communities – movement and creativity,” said Jed Kornbluh, Director of Business Development at Arts for Learning Connecticut. “Every participant helps support programs that bring professional artists into schools and community spaces across Connecticut. We are thrilled to partner with Erik Castiglione, owner of Viking Athletics, and his coaching staff. He has proven to be a tremendous community resource in West Hartford, and we’re lucky to count Erik among our supporters.”
Arts for Learning Connecticut works with more than 90 professional Teaching Artists and ensembles, offering workshops, performances, and artist residencies that help students develop creativity, communication skills, and confidence. Each year, the organization reaches more than 70,000 students statewide, many of whom attend Title I schools and live in underserved communities.
Sweat for the Arts invites participants of all fitness levels. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends, coworkers, or training partners and experience a unique event that blends fitness, live performance, and community impact. A minimum suggested donation of $25 is requested for participation.
Online registration is open now, and space is limited.
