Town of West Hartford PSA: Remove Basketball Hoops from Right-of-Way
Audio By Carbonatix
The following Public Service Announcement was provided by the Town of West Hartford.
Attention West Hartford Residents:
The Town of West Hartford kindly reminds residents that portable basketball hoops must be removed from the public right-of-way. Per Town Code §155-26, an obstruction permit is required to place items in the public right-of-way, which includes streets, sidewalks, and other town property.
Leaving portable basketball hoops in these areas poses a safety hazard, particularly during snow and ice control operations. Equipment such as plows and sanders require clear access to ensure our streets and sidewalks remain safe and passable for everyone.
We request your cooperation in promptly removing portable basketball hoops or similar items from the right-of-way. Failure to do so may result in enforcement action to ensure compliance with town regulations.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain safety and efficiency during winter.
