Boy Scout Troop 44, which meets at the Universalist Church of West Hartford, proudly announced that two members have reached the rank of Eagle Scout.

Jackson Bouvier and David O’Connor were both honored in a ceremony on Jan. 15, and received their awards, Troop Committee Chairperson Rich Bouvier said.

Just 5% of all Scouts attain the Eagle rank. To earn the rank of Eagle, each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community, church, or synagogue-related service project.

Jackson Bouvier’s Eagle Project consisted of designing, raising funds, purchasing materials, and leading a team of Scouts, friends, and adult volunteers in rebuilding an elevated walk way and bridge in the Spice Bush Swamp, as well as revitalizing walking trails.
