The newly founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SistaSoccer, Inc. that recycles used soccer gear to children around the country and world is stepping foot into our Hartford backyard!

Two alumni Hartford Hawks, Julie Oberholtzer and Shealagh Begley, are running an all-day event before the University of Hartford Hawks Women’s soccer match this Sunday, Oct. 1. The clinic is just the kick-off event to help raise community awareness.

SistaSoccer will then be implementing a 12-session, year-long program in Hartford at the Boys and Girls Club where they not only train and tutor the children, but also provide every child with their own pair of cleats, shinguards, ball, bag, and outfit! SistaSoccer, Inc. is looking for community support to help the youth of Hartford and continue to learn and grow through the positive outlets and fundamentals SistaSoccer supports.

SistaSoccer builds confidence and camaraderie through the power of positive influence and the passion of playing soccer. Please visit their website: www.SistaSoccer.com for how to get involved and donate!
