The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is celebrating its 40-year record of educating women business leaders with a launch of a tuition-free fifth-year Master’s Degree for incoming 2017 undergraduate Business Management and Accounting majors. Qualified students will earn an M.S. in Management, and Accounting majors will also be able to complete all eligibility requirements for the Connecticuct state CPA exam.
USJ President Rhona Free remarked, “This opportunity provides students both an undergraduate and graduate degree – two degrees for the price of one. USJ’s “4+1” dual degree program is unique in Connecticut and is another distinctive way we prepare our students to become successful professionals in their chosen field of work and growing sectors of the regional economy.”
According to USA Today, majoring in business is the no. 1 choice of undergraduate students in the U.S. At USJ, its 40-year record of successful women in business demonstrates the value of a rigorous curriculum, expert faculty, and professional experiential learning opportunities. This new program offers even more value for future business management and accounting students at USJ.
Daniel Nussbaum, Ph.D., dean, School of Graduate and Professional Studies noted, “In addition to the M.S. degree for Accounting majors, the students who complete this program will be ready for their CPA exam without having to take additional courses after they graduate. That’s a huge value for our students and employers.”
