Man Dies after Shooting, Vehicle Crashes into West Hartford Building

West Hartford and Hartford Police responded after a fatal shooting resulted in the crash of a vehicle into a building at the corner of Boulevard and Prospect Avenue Monday afternoon.

Police responded to an incident Monday afternoon after a vehicle with three occupants crashed into the Subway at 1037 Boulevard in West Hartford sometime around 2:30 p.m.
Hartford Police Lt. Paul Cicero told We-Ha.com that the driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old male, died of gunshot wounds after being transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
West Hartford Police said that the crash followed a shooting, which appears to have originated in Hartford, and the Hartford Police Department is handling the investigation.
Hartford Police posted on Twitter that it appears that the driver and passengers in a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Capitol Avenue in Hartford were fired upon, and the driver then crashed the vehicle into the Subway, which is located at the intersection of Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, just across the line in West Hartford.
A 17-year-old female passenger is in stable condition at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police said a third passenger was injured but did not have gunshot wounds but did not provide any further details.
Hartford Police remain on the scene and are continuing to investigate.
