The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District will be holding a family flu shot clinic on Nov. 5, with vaccination available for adults of all ages as well as children ages 4 and up.

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older receive their annual flu vaccination. It is an effective way to decrease flu illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths,” Health District Director Aimee Krauss said in an email.

The clinic will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Sedgwick Middle School, 128 Sedgwick Rd., West Hartford.

Pre-registration is not required.

High dose vaccines are available for adults ages 65 and older.

The following insurance coverage will be accepted at the clinic: ConnectiCare, Anthem, Aetna, CIGNA, Medicare Part B, Husky, and UHC/Oxford. Insurance cards should be presented at the clinic.

The charge is $30 (cash) for those who are uninsured. The Health District asks that those paying by cash please provide exact change.

Participants must wear masks and are asked to bring their own pens to complete paperwork.
