The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce is relaunching its signature business networking event, AM Connections, at the Noah Webster Library on Friday, Sept. 16 from 7:30-9 a.m.

AM Connections was launched nearly a decade ago to create a way for local businesses to engage and learn about each other.  While the event is hosted by the Chamber, it is open to non-member visitors and guests.

There will be opening networking before and after the meeting. During the event, each attendee is given an opportunity to give a “30-Second Commercial” to share who they are, what they do, and who would be a good referral for them. There will also be a brief update from the West Hartford Chamber.

Free coffee and pastries will be available.

“We are excited to return to AM Connections home at the Noah Webster Library,” said West Hartford Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Chris Conway. “People do business with people they know, like and trust. In-person networking creates a unique opportunity for businesses to learn about each other, and potentially do business with each other or become a source of referrals”

In the years before the COVID-19 pandemic the event was held twice per month and drew 50-75 people at each meeting.  During the pandemic the meeting quickly moved to a weekly virtual format via Zoom, retaining many of its core attendees while attracting new people. Since November the chamber has hosted it once per month in a hybrid format with the remaining meeting be virtual. Sept. 16 is first fully in-person AM Connections in nearly three years.

“West Hartford Chamber AM Connections has been a very useful networking event for me and my business over the years,” said Avi Smith-Rapaport of We Care Computers. “Efficiency has always been a key driver for my business and the ability to meet dozens of people in an hour and a half still blows me away to this day. It’s also a wonderful way to stay connected to many businesspeople that you don’t normally see on a regular basis. I have met many of my closest connections from the event and look forward to the future.”

AM Connections is open to West Hartford Chamber members, and anyone who wants to network with other local businesses. Space is limited and registration is required. To register or to learn more click here.
