On Sept. 8 and Sept, 15, the West Hartford Women’s Chorale will host Open Rehearsals for new singers from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bristow Middle School, 34 Highland St, West Hartford, CT.

As a non-audition, community chorale, any interested women who like to sing are welcome to join.

The chorale sings 4-part vocal harmony and performs three formal concerts each season. There is also an audition-only group, the Camerata, that performs music suited to a smaller ensemble.

Dr. Ethan Nash leads the chorale as the Music Director. Musical repertoire includes classical works as well as jazz, seasonal, traditional folk, and Broadway music.

Each season, the group raises funds and awards a scholarship to a graduating high school senior going on to pursue music.

Board President Karen Bachman said, “The chorale was founded to provide female singers of all ages an opportunity to sing beautiful choral music. It’s a great resource in our community and we are excited to open our 12th season.”

Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at Bristow Middle School in West Hartford from 7 – 9 p.m. For more information, visit our website at www.whwchorale.org or like us on Facebook.
