A fire that broke out on the third floor of a mixed-use building has rendered the structure temporarily uninhabitable, West Hartford Fire Department officials said Sunday.
According to Deputy Chief Neal Sinatro, a fire on the third floor 798 Farmington Avenue was reported at 2:59 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
“Upon arrival, fire personnel observed a light smoke condition emanating from a third-floor window of a mixed-use building. Firefighters quickly located and extinguished a small fire on the third floor,” Sinatro said in an email.
There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians, Sinatro said, but due to smoke and water damage to the structure, which houses a dental office as well as apartments, tenants are being relocated with assistance from the American Red Cross.
The West Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, Sinatro said.
