After a busy holiday season, the West Hartford Food Pantry desperately needs the public’s assistance.

The Town of West Hartford Food Pantry has had a busy holiday season, distributing hundreds of bags of groceries between Thanksgiving and the new year. Although the holiday rush has passed, the pantry continues to be full of activity.
“The holidays brought many collections from local schools, businesses, residents and organizations, but we are distributing items so quickly, the shelves don’t stay stocked for long,” said Food Pantry Coordinator, Amanda Moffo. Last year, the pantry distributed just as many bags in January and February as it did in November and December when food drives were plentiful.
Currently, the pantry is in desperate need of several staple items.
You can help by donating regular-sized boxes of cereal, rice, peanut butter, pasta sauce or macaroni & cheese. Donations can be left on the gray carts in the lobby of Town Hall at 50 South Main St.
Financial contributions may be sent to: The Town That Cares—Food Pantry, 50 S. Main Street—Room 306, West Hartford, CT 06107.
The food pantry would like to thank its generous donors and volunteers for their support in 2014. Food and monetary donations from the community make it possible for the pantry to serve more than 700 households annually, and assist low-income West Hartford residents in their time of need.
