The West Hartford Magic Girls won the league championship this season.

The West Hartford Magic Girls eighth grade travel basketball team won the Connecticut Girls Basketball League (CGBL) tournament championship by beating Farmington 33-30 with a last-second three-pointer.

This is the second year in a row the team won the tournament championship, and this year, they also placed first in the regular season. All 10 girls on the team will be attending either Hall or Conard High School in the fall.

The CGBL consist of teams in West Hartford, Berlin, Newington, Cheshire, Farmington, Avon, Wallingford, Glastonbury, South Windsor, Bristol, Cromwell, Rocky Hill, Southington and Simsbury.
