As part of the Town of West Hartford’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible community, we are conducting a comprehensive ADA Self-Evaluation, and we need your input! Please take our survey:bit.ly/3G8KGyJ

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a landmark civil rights law that ensures individuals with disabilities have equal access to public services, facilities, and opportunities. Today, an estimated 70 million Americans – about 25% of the population – are protected under the ADA.

As part of our commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible community, the Town of West Hartford, with support from consultant the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD), will conduct a comprehensive ADA Self-Evaluation and develop a Transition Plan. We will assess town facilities and programs to ensure compliance with the ADA. For reference, “facilities” include public buildings such as Town Hall, libraries, and parks, while “programs” encompass services like the town’s food pantry, senior center events, and camps.

We value your input in this process. Your feedback will help shape a more inclusive community for all residents.

If you need this survey in an alternative format or require additional accommodations to participate, please contact ADA Coordinator Suzanne Oslander at [email protected] or 860-561-7580.
