West Hartford Man Pinned Under Vehicle Dies

West Hartford Police are investigating the untimely death of a 30-year-old resident.

West Hartford Police report that they were called to investigate a report of a man pinned underneath a car at 14 Abbotsford Ave., West Hartford, shortly before 10 p.m. Monday night.

According to police, when they arrived at the scene they found Douglas Medeiros, 30, of 14 Abbotsford Ave., with his neck pinned between the front passenger tire of a vehicle and the curb of his residence. Police said that the vehicle was running and appeared to be in gear.

Medeiros was dead at the scene. According to the police report, “There were signs that Medeiros may have been
working underneath the vehicle and it rolled back onto his neck.”

There were no witnesses and no further details available at this time, but police will continue to investigate.
