The preschoolers were excited to see NBC Connecticut’s Snow Monster – and to present Valentine’s Day cards to the weather team.

The students at West Hartford Methodist Nursery School were happy to welcome a monster to their school last week.

“West Hartford Methodist Nursery School had a special visitor for Valentine’s Day – NBC Connecticut’s Snow Monster! Thanks to parent Danielle Neveu, our preschoolers got an up-close look at the high-tech weather vehicle, said Director Lisa Brown.

“Students were thrilled to explore Snow Monster’s features, especially its furry interior and giant wheels. They also had fun counting the many cameras mounted on the exterior. To wrap up the visit, the children presented a handmade valentine to NBC’s weather team and Snow Monster as a thank-you,” she said.

According to Brown, students enjoy “weather watching” at WHMNS, and track the weather conditions each day on the calendar.

“Who knows – we may have a future meteorologist in our midst!” Brown said.
