The Amelia Classical Music Series (ACMS), in collaboration with the Town of West Hartford, is proud to present America 250: Belonging – A Celebration in Song,”a moving vocal program honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The performance will take place at 5 p.m. at Flagg Road United Church of Christ at 134 Flagg Road in West Hartford.

The program is made possible by the generous support of West Hartford’s America 250 Committee, Russian School of Mathematics, Solinsky Eye Care, and Duncaster.

Belonging – A Celebration in Song is a deeply personal and powerful program exploring identity, heritage, and the many paths that lead individuals to call a place home. Presented as part of West Hartford’s official America 250 commemoration, the concert reflects on the ideals of resilience, inclusivity, and community at the heart of the American experience.

The program features an all-female ensemble of acclaimed vocalists, including Meredith Hansen (Metropolitan Opera), Madison Marie McIntosh (Florida Grand Opera), and ACMS founder Zhanna Alkhazova (Carnegie Hall, Sarasota Opera), with Blake Hansen, pianist. Together, they will present a compelling musical journey that interweaves beloved operatic arias by Puccini and Verdi with American songs that give voice to immigrant stories and underrepresented perspectives.

Through this unique program, audiences will experience a rich tapestry of music that reflects both the traditions of opera and the diverse narratives that shape our communities today.

Founded by operatic soprano Zhanna Alkhazova, the Amelia Classical Music Series is a West Hartford-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing world-class artists to the region through intimate and inspiring performances. In its third season, ACMS continues to grow as a vibrant cultural presence in Greater Hartford, while expanding access to the arts through outreach and community engagement initiatives.

The concert will begin at 5 p.m. and run approximately 75-90 minutes. Parking is free and available on site.

Tickets are available online. For more information, visit www.ameliaclassicalmusicseries.org.
