West Hartford Police Chief Tracey Gove presided over a celebration Thursday morning to say goodbye to a long-time member of the department and to mark the promotion of two others.
Capt. Frank Fallon announced his plans to retire after 22 years with the department and will be pursuing a new career in the insurance industry. A West Hartford native, he was promoted to the rank of captain in 2013.
The ceremony also honored two promotions. Joseph Creaco was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and Shawn DiBella was promoted to sergeant.

Congratulations to Capt. Frank Fallon upon his retirement. I have had the privilege of knowing Frank and the entire Fallon family for over thirty years. Frank used to run the Projector for me at St. Thomas The Apostle School when he was in Elementary School. I observed first hand his burning desire to serve the West Hartford Community at an early age. As most in Law Enforcement know, the Fallon Family has served with Honor and Distinction in both Hartford, and West Hartford. There is no doubt he will be missed, but I wish him nothing but good luck and good fortune. It was an honor to work with him for a brief time, and I wish him the very best. (Great Cop!!)
