A New Haven man has been arrested and charged after West Hartford Police determined that he had physically assaulted three men and one women during an argument that took place Wednesday night on LaSalle Road in West Hartford Center.
Police said they were given a description of the suspect, and located the man, identified as Tommel Bryce Johnson, 28, of Monroe Street in New Haven, near the CVS at 976 Farmington Ave.
The incident took place just after 11:20 p.m.
Police said that Johnson “became uncooperative and resisted being taken into custody” once he learned he was under arrest.
Officers were able to subdue Johnson, and he was transported to the police station at 103 Raymond Rd. in the prisoner van, police said.
Injuries to the four victims included “minor pain from slaps and punches thrown by the suspect,” police said.
Johnson sustained scratches on his arms that were the result of his resisting being held inside the prisoner compartment of cruiser no. 4, police said.
Charges against Johnson include four counts of third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, and interfering with an officer.
