West Hartford Police have now identified the victim as well as the driver involved in a fatal crash that occurred Sunday night on Park Road.
According to West Hartford Police Capt. Michael Perruccio, June Krisch, 80, of Storrs, CT, was crossing Park Road just east of Oakwood Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling east on Park Road.
First responders provided medical treatment on the scene, but lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and Krisch was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Krisch, Dominic Folino of West Hartford, remained on the scene and is continuing to cooperate with the police investigation of the incident. He was driving a Jeep Wrangler, Perruccio said.
Police have not yet released information about Folino’s age, and whether or not any charges will be filed against him.
Police have also not said whether or not the weather was believed to be a factor in the crash. At the time of the incident, roads were wet and a light rain was falling.
The investigation remains active and is being conducted by the West Hartford Police Traffic Division. Perruccio noted that the West Hartford Detective Division, West Hartford Fire Department, and members of the Metro Traffic Services assisted at the scene.

I was driving home during that time and came across the accident. It was raining with very low visibility. It made for difficult driving. More street lights may have made a difference. I am quite sad for both parties
