West Hartford Public Schools: ‘Off to Kindergarten’ Program Planned and Registration Open for Pre-K

Parents of incoming kindergartners are invited to attend the ‘Off to Kindergarten’ program, and West Hartford Public Schools has announced the opening of registration for its Pre-K programs.

The West Hartford Public Schools and Great By 8 invite parents/guardians of the kindergarten class of 2019-2020 to attend an informational meeting on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The snow date Feb. 4, 2019.
The meeting will be hosted in the Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main St.. Please join us to learn more about the registration process, what to expect in the day in the life of a kindergarten student, and to receive tips on how to prepare for this transition.
Children residing in West Hartford, who are turning age 5 on or before Jan. 1, 2020 ,are eligible to register for kindergarten.

In addition, applications are now available for West Hartford Public Schools 2019-2020 pre-kindergarten programs located at Charter Oak International Academy, Florence E. Smith STEM School, and Webster Hill School
Applicants must reside in West Hartford and be 4 years old on or before Jan. 1, 2020, for programs at Charter Oak, Smith and Webster Hill. Charter Oak is also accepting 3-year-olds who must be 3 on or before Jan. 1, 2020.
Enrollment will be granted based on a lottery system.
Online applications will be available at www.whps.org or may be completed at the Town Hall Residency Office, Room 134, beginning Jan. 10, 2019.
