The West Hartford Republican Town Committee is proud to host a candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Town Hall, Room 400, commencing at 7 p.m. The public forum will include introductory statements by the Republican State Senate and Representative candidates — Mark Merritt (5th Senate), Rob Levine (18th House), and Chris Barnes (19th House) — followed by an open discussion where the town residents will have an opportunity to ask questions and to hear directly from the candidates.

“We repeatedly asked the Democrat Town Committee through Jonathan Slifka and the individual candidates to participate in a live debate and they declined,” according to Dennis Swanton, chair of the Republican Town Committee. “We believe the voters deserve an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates and understand their vision for turning our state around,” says Swanton. This is a public service for the residents of West Hartford.
