When the Hall High School and Conard High School baseball teams face each other on the field on Friday, April 29, the game will be about much more than the score at the end of nine innings.
Coach Jeff Billing (Hall) and Coach Sanjay Rambhia (Conard) and the teams will host their second annual Coaches vs. Cancer game to support the life-saving work of the American Cancer Society. Both teams will be decked out in special shirts designed by the captains for the game.
The game will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Hartford, Connecticut. American Cancer Society volunteer Lynn Torsiello has spearheaded plans for the game both years and is thrilled to have the teams support the fight against breast cancer.
The game is scheduled for Friday, April 29 at the William Hall High School varsity baseball field at 3:45 p.m. Fans can support the teams’ efforts by making a donation at the game or to a member of either baseball team.

About the American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society combines an unyielding passion with over a century of experience to save lives and end cancer for good. As a global grassroots force of three million volunteers, we fight for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. We save lives by helping you stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early, helping you get well by being there for you during and after a diagnosis, by finding cures through groundbreaking discovery and fighting back through public policy. As the nation’s largest non-governmental investor in cancer research, contributing more than $3.8 billion, we turn what we know about cancer into what we do. As a result, an estimated 13.7 million people in America who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will be celebrating birthdays this year.
