Road construction season will soon begin, and a number of West Hartford streets are scheduled for complete reconstruction that includes repaving as well as replacement of concrete driveway aprons, catch basin replacement, repair/replacement of curbing, and repair or replacement of damaged concrete sidewalks.
Reconstruction work is set to begin in April, and according to Town Engineer Duane Martin, during the 2016 construction season, the town plans to reconstruct the following roadways:
- Rumford Street (South Main Street to Webster Hill Boulevard)
- Milton Street
- King Philip Drive (Fuller Drive to Mohawk Drive)
- Lemay Street
- Canal Road (Westmont to Hunter Drive)
- Ridgewood Road (West Point Terrace to Interstate 84 Ramps)
In addition, other roadways are scheduled for repaving – which includes milling but not complete reconstruction. The first round of milling and paving should begin in May on the following roadways:
- Brook Street
- Douglas Circle
- Drury Lane
- Goodwin Place
- Hall Street
- Maiden Lane
- Timberwood Road
- Winterset Lane
There will be two additional rounds of repaving taking place in June and September, Martin said. Information about roadways scheduled for those rounds will be provided closer to the start date.
