Through a generous donation by an anonymous Hall High School parent, Hall’s Empty Bowls Club was able to host a Feeding Children Everywhere event after school in the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 18.
In just 40 minutes nearly 160 Hall High students made 20,000 healthy meals for Connecticut families in need. Feeding Children Everywhere is a social charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children.
In order to participate, students and faculty were asked to form teams of 10 and sign up in advance. On assembly day, all donned hair nets and listened to Feeding Children Everywhere representatives as they ran through instructions, talked about the ingredients in the healthy meals to be assembled, and commended the participants for their time and commitment to making a difference in their own community.
“It was an exciting and energizing experience! We were so fortunate to be able to put this meaningful project together,” said Kim Hart-Kindelberger, faculty advisor for Empty Bowls.
