Six Kingswood Oxford students from West Hartford have been honored with Scholastic Arts Awards this year.

Six Kingswood Oxford students – all from West Hartford – have earned special distinction for their artwork in the statewide Scholastic Art Awards competition.

The student-artists will be honored at the 27th annual Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibit and Ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the University of Hartford’s Lincoln Theater. It is the largest juried student art exhibition in the state for students in grades 7-12.

The honored KO student-artists are:

• Molly Baron ’19, daughter of Nancy and Marty Baron – Honorable Mention, Printmaking
• Meghan Dalton ’17, daughter of Blair Fleming Dalton ’84 and Kevin Dalton – Gold Key, Photography
• Carolyn McCusker ’17, daughter of Karen and Kevin McCusker – Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration
• Mackenzie McDonald ’16, daughter of Wendy and Thomas McDonald – Honorable Mention, Photography
• Vanessa Meikle ’20, daughter of Chelsea and Adam Meikle – Silver Key, Sculpture
• Bonnie Steinberg ’17, daughter of Felice Heller and Michael Steinberg  – Honorable Mention, Painting

The students’ artwork will be on display until Feb. 5.

The preeminent independent co-ed day school in Greater Hartford, Kingswood Oxford School is located just steps from Blue Back Square and West Hartford Center. Its 508 students come from 62 towns in CT and western MA, as well as China and South Korea.
