West Hartford Students Win Scholastic Art Awards

Six Kingswood Oxford students from West Hartford have been honored with Scholastic Arts Awards this year.

Six Kingswood Oxford students – all from West Hartford – have earned special distinction for their artwork in the statewide Scholastic Art Awards competition.
The student-artists will be honored at the 27th annual Connecticut Regional Scholastic Art Awards Exhibit and Ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the University of Hartford’s Lincoln Theater. It is the largest juried student art exhibition in the state for students in grades 7-12.
The honored KO student-artists are:
- Molly Baron ’19, daughter of Nancy and Marty Baron – Honorable Mention, Printmaking
- Meghan Dalton ’17, daughter of Blair Fleming Dalton ’84 and Kevin Dalton – Gold Key, Photography
- Carolyn McCusker ’17, daughter of Karen and Kevin McCusker – Gold Key, Drawing and Illustration
- Mackenzie McDonald ’16, daughter of Wendy and Thomas McDonald – Honorable Mention, Photography
- Vanessa Meikle ’20, daughter of Chelsea and Adam Meikle – Silver Key, Sculpture
- Bonnie Steinberg ’17, daughter of Felice Heller and Michael Steinberg – Honorable Mention, Painting
The students’ artwork will be on display until Feb. 5.
