Josh Leibman Honored his Aunt Debbie Levy by raising funds on her behalf as part of his Bar Mitzvah prject.
West Hartford teen Josh Leibman spent Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Mandell JCC‘s Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Childhood Center to help raise money for the Debbie Levy Caring and Kindness Fund in honor of his Aunt Debbie Levy who passed of Pancreatic Cancer in October of last year. Josh is celebrating his Bar Mitzvah soon and has chosen his Bar Mitzvah project to help support and educate people about Pancreatic Cancer. His Aunt Debbie will be greatly missed at this family celebration and Josh is proud to support the worthwhile cause in her honor as part of his special day.
Josh spoke of the meaning behind his Bar Mitzvah project saying, “For my Bar Mitzvah project I would like to support and raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer. My aunt Debbie Levy passed away this past October from this devastating disease. She was a teacher at the Mandell JCC‘s Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Childhood Center preschool for 22 years. The Debbie Levy Kindness and Caring Fund was established in her honor as a way of helping the Mandell JCC professionals continue their work in childhood education. On Friday, March 25, I will be at the JCC preschool selling water bottles and wrist bands in her honor. My hope is to raise money that will go directly into this fund. This is a project that means a lot to me because I think that it is important to bring awareness to this awful disease.”
