West Hartford Teen Injured in Fall from Talcott Mountain

A student at West Hartford’s Conard High School was rescued Wednesday afternoon and evacuated by LIFE STAR after reportedly falling off a cliff at Talcott Mountain State Park.

A West Hartford teen was injured Wednesday afternoon in a fall at Talcott Mountain State Park in Simsbury.
According to sources, the teen is a student at Conard High School and was with other students at the time of the incident.
WFSB reported that the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m., and crews had to rappel approximately 125 feet down the mountain to rescue the teen. A LIFE STAR helicopter responded to remove the teen from the area.
Further information about the teen, including the teen’s condition, is not currently available.
Talcott Mountain State Park, which includes a 1.25-mile trail to Heublein Tower, is a popular hiking destination.
