West Hartford Women in Networking (WWIN) invites female entrepreneurs and businesswomen to join us for a fascinating meeting with breakfast provided by Café Louise. We will have networking, introductions, guest speaker, and group discussions.

Guest Speaker will be Wildaliz Bermudez, communications director for the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters, an environmental non-profit agency that serves as a watchdog for the environment.  She is also a City Councilwoman in Hartford.

Bermudez earned her Bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Caribbean and Latin American Studies and her Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from La Universidad Metropolitana in Puerto Rico. She has worked for the City of Hartford Mayor’s Office and the Department of Public Works as an environmental policy research analyst. While there, she created the city’s first Green Action Team to promote environmental stewardship in the workplace.

Bermudez has produced two environmental documentaries, one featuring environmental activists in Puerto Rico and the other highlighting a policy proposal for a textile recycling plan in Connecticut.

Bermudez has been involved with several community organizations among them, the CT Landmarks Society, CT Alliance for Basic Human Needs, the Roberto Clemente Tribute Committee and the Sheff Movement Coalition.

She has served on the Board for El Centro for Latino Progress for several years now and is excited about BiCiCo a program to promote bicycle advocacy for youth and women. Bermudez is committed to bringing forth environmental awareness to communities throughout Connecticut.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, June 30, from 7:30 – 9:45 a.m., at the West Hartford Senior Center, 15 Starkel Rd., West Hartford. The cost is $2 per person.
