BlumShapiro has announced that registration is open for the BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship. The 2015 run and walk race, Kids Fun Run and other family activities will be held on Saturday, May 2 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Interested parties can register online at www.travelerschampionship.com.  Registration fees vary.

In its 7th year, the BlumShapiro 5K is an annual tradition that signals the kickoff to the Travelers Championship and raises funds for Hartford’s Camp Courant, the oldest and largest free summer day camp program in the country.

The event welcomes people of all ability levels to run or walk along the roads that line the fairways, greens and practice facility at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.

“The BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant at the Travelers Championship has become an annual gathering for families, friends and the community and benefits hundreds of children who attend Hartford’s Camp Courant in the summer,” said Joseph Kask, Office Managing Partner of BlumShapiro, West Hartford.

Hartford’s Camp Courant provides youth development programs for over 1,000 Hartford children ages 5-12 during a six-week summer schedule at its Farmington, CT campgrounds.

The May 2nd BlumShapiro 5K for Camp Courant begins with the Kids Fun Run at 10:30 a.m., followed by the 5K race and walk at 11 a.m.

Prior to and after the races, children will be treated to many activities, including mini golf putting greens, inflatables, face painting, games, clowns, jugglers, balloon artists and caricaturists.  Food, beverages and music make it a festive day for the entire family.

All activities will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at approximately 1:30 p.m., and includes a new post-race celebration with local food and exclusive beverage specials beginning at 11:30 a.m.

All race participants will be given one ticket valid for any one-day admission to the 2015 Travelers Championship, June 22-28.
