On Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, Mark Hutson, Citizen’s Oil Co-op President, and Rosie Stanko, Citizen’s Oil Co-op Vice-President, presented a check to Barbara Henry, First Selectman of Roxbury, and the Roxbury Fuel Bank for over $500.
This contribution will aid members of the community who are in need of fuel assistance this heating season.
The Co-op is excited about our partnership with the Town of Roxbury and their fuel bank. In the fall of 2013, with the help of First Selectman, Barbara Henry, we were able to set up the “Roxbury Challenge” including a strategic partnership with the Roxbury Fuel Bank. Barbara Henry’s visionary partnership encouraged town residents to become members of the Citizen’s Oil Co-op offering savings on heating oil, propane, electricity, and much more as well as creating an opportunity to give back to the community. The Co-op would be available to set up similar partnerships in towns throughout Connecticut.
The Citizen’s Oil Co-op, based in West Hartford, works with participating oil companies throughout Connecticut to provide homeowners with automatic deliveries and full service at a negotiated discounted price. Thousands of Co-op members are saving hundreds of dollars each year.
