Since Thursday is New Year’s Day, we once again take a break from our regular “Thursday Throwback” and instead have “Wayback Wednesday” this week. We did the same last week due to Christmas Day falling on a Thursday.

In our quest to use seasonally-appropriate images, last week’s “Wayback” was an image of a Christmas tree. Yisraela Ellyn Yehudit correctly identified the location as the front of First Church on South Main Street.

And thank you to Rick Liftig for his kind comments!

For this week, we bring you another seasonally appropriate image. Why would all these women be wearing skiis?

Please add your thoughts and comments below.

Happy New Year, West Hartford!

Thank you to the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society for providing us with the images. For more information about the organization, visit www.noahwebsterhouse.org.

I’m gonna take a wild guess. Are these ladies in the “Ski patrol?” And are they patrolling the MDC trails say around 1955? Happy New Year to all!
