What You Need to Know to Make Sure Your Absentee Ballot is Counted

West Hartford Town Clerk Essie Labrot provided the following information to those who plan to vote by absentee ballot for the Aug. 11 primary.

Absentee ballots are in the mail and should be received this week by all voters who requested them by application.

After your ballot is filled out, place in Envelope B: REMEMBER to SIGN and DATE as directed otherwise your ballot will NOT BE COUNTED.

Insert into the Postage Paid Envelope: Make sure the address of the TOWN CLERK is visible in the envelope window.

TO RETURN YOUR BALLOT: You may put in the mail for U.S. Post Office to deliver, OR you may drop it off at one of the two Election Drop Boxes located at the front entrance of Town Hall. The secure Election Drop boxes are available 24/7 for voters to make sure that their ballots are received by Aug. 11 8 p.m.

Any ballots not received by U.S. Mail or dropped in these Election Drop Boxes by 8 p.m. on Aug. 11, 2020, WILL NOT be counted.
