Sit down, kick back, and enjoy a delicious glass of wine with a side of chocolate.
Chocolate and wine sound wonderful alone, but can be even better together, as you will learn after this program.
On Thursday, Feb. 12, from 7-8:30 p.m., prepare for Valentine’s Day at the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society’s wine and chocolate pairing class. Steve Leon of Wine Cellars 4 (68 Farmington Avenue, Farmington) and Mary Anne Charron of Cocoa Chi will give a lesson on pairing the perfect bottle with the perfect box of chocolates.
“Mary Anne Charron is a Chocolatier and founder of Cocoa Chi, an Artisan boutique chocolatier that specializes in fair trade, all natural, one-source chocolates. She is also a West Hartford resident and lawyer, who just happens to do chocolate on the side,” said Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society Executive Director Jen Matos. Charron’s chocolate business is based out of the Noah Webster House kitchen.
Guests will try six varieties of each over the course of the evening. These will include dark and milk chocolate tastings featuring chocolate with pralines, dark chocolate truffles, and white chocolate with raspberry ganache. Wine pairings will include Shiraz, Zinfandel, Port, and Muscat among others.
The event is $30 for museum members and Let*s GO Arts members and $35 for the general public. Visit www.noahwebsterhouse.org or call 860-521-5362 x21 for reservations (required). Order forms for wines and chocolates will be available.
