West Hartford Police said that a 17-year-old driver sustained only minor injuries in a rollover crash in the area of 1208 Trout Brook Dr. (between Fern and Asylum) just before 3 a.m. Sunday that snapped a utility pole and knocked out power to homes in the area.
Police said they received several 911 calls from area residents and when they arrived on the scene debris was strewn all along Trout Brook Drive, and a utility pole was snapped at the base.
The sole vehicle involved in the accident, a 2005 Toyotal 4Runner, was extensively damaged and towed from the scene. Police said it appeared to have rolled over during the incident.
A 17-year-old male was the sole occupant of the 4Runner, police said. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries by AMR personnel and transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. Police said they could not release any additional details because he is a juvenile.
Police said that Frontier Communications responded to replace the pole.
