The 2026 West Hartford Invite was held at Cornerstone pool on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026. It featured four teams from the CCC (Conard, Hall, Glastonbury, Farmington) and eight teams from various parts of the state (Amity, Naugatuck, Pomperaug, Woodland Regional, Greenwich, Watertown, Xavier, and Bulkeley).
During the course of the day, three meet records were broken, including Conard’s Luke Scheinfeldt in the first event, the 100 butterfly, with a time of 50.78. Luke’s time also broke a 44-year-old Conard school record in the event. Scheinfeldt followed that up with a meet record in the 50 free. His time there was 21.38, also breaking a Conard school record.
In that same event, Jack Ackerman from Hall swam a Hall school record time of 21.83. In the 100 freestyle, Ackerman and Scheinfeldt were at it again, Scheinfeldt led at the 50 turn, but Ackerman caught him coming home and finished in another meet and Hall school record time of 46.63.
Other event winners were: 50 butterfly, Markiyan Yukhno (Amity); 100 breaststroke, Yaron Kantorovich (Hall); 50 backstroke, Matt Bergner (Greenwich); 50 butterfly, Holden Kudlac (Glastonbury); 50 breaststroke, Colin Bucaria (Greenwich); and 100 Individual medley, (Scheinfeldt). Holden Kudlac’s time in the 50 butterfly was just 0.01 seconds off of the meet record.
The meet concluded with the 1200 Free relay, each swimmer doing a 50 free. The 12 teams were split into two teams of six, each team sending up four swimmers. The boys lined up for a 24×50 race. There were several lead changes as the race progressed, and in the last 50 yards, Charlie Koven from Greenwich chased and caught the last swimmer from the other team to win the event by 1 second.
The team of Greenwich, Conard, Farmington, Glastonbury, Bulkeley, and Naugatuck were victorious over the team of Amity, Hall, Pomperaug, Xavier, Woodland, and Watertown.
