The Connecticut Salon of the 8 & 40, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the prevention and control of lung diseases in children, will host a fun-filled “Race for the Cure” event on Saturday, May 3, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Fernridge Park in West Hartford.

This family-friendly event is inspired by the National 8 & 40 theme, “Race for a Cure,” and will feature a wide variety of creative and engaging races for all ages. Activities will include tabletop horse and car races, classic sack races, three-legged races, and even boat races in a kiddie pool.

Admission is free, and donations are encouraged. All proceeds will benefit the Connecticut Children’s Foundation, supporting critical programs and services for children in need.

The 8 & 40 is a 501(c)(4), tax-exempt nonprofit organization committed to the common good and general welfare of the community. Through events like this, the organization continues its mission of raising awareness and funds to combat pediatric respiratory illnesses.

Families, friends, and community members are invited to join in the fun while supporting an important cause.
