The Amelia Classical Music Series is proud to present classical pianist Carter Johnson, the 2025 Finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, on Saturday, November 22. The concert will begin at 5 p.m. at the Flagg Road United Church of Christ in West Hartford.
Praised for his “sincere, communicative, and intelligent playing” by La Scena Musicale, Johnson has captivated audiences across North America and Europe with performances that combine brilliance, depth, and emotional honesty. Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, he now resides in Connecticut, where he is continuing his graduate studies in music at Yale. He has appeared as a soloist with many major orchestras and on prestigious stages worldwide, earning him acclaim for his artistry, technical mastery, and imaginative programming.

For his ACMS debut, Johnson will celebrated the expressive spirit of the early 20th century with music that conveys lyricism, wit, and daring innovation. His program will include selections by Ravel, Debussy, Prokofiev, and Chaminade, among others.
The Amelia Classical Music Series, founded by renowned soprano Zhanna Alkhazova-Isenberg, brings world-class artists to Central Connecticut and beyond, offering intimate and inspiring performances that connect audiences with extraordinary musicians.

The concert will take place at 134 Flagg Rd., West Hartford at 5 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes, including one brief intermission. Parking is free. Tickets cost $50 general admission ($40 for seniors and $25 for students) and may be purchased online at https://www.tixtree.com/e/
