The annual Friends of Feeney Golf Tournament was the West Hartford-based nonprofit’s most successful fundraiser to date.

On Saturday, Sept. 13, the Fourth Annual Friends of Feeney Golf Tournament raised over $34,000 to fund the nonprofit’s mission of supporting local children and families who need assistance after heartbreak and tragedy.

“As the largest fundraiser in the history of Friends of Feeney, funds raised will go a long way towards assisting those who need it the most,” said President Eric Feeney. “We are extremely grateful for everyone who donated their time, money and resources to help our community members who are facing unimaginable challenges.”

The tournament, held at Tunxis Country Club, welcomed 148 golfers and dozens of volunteers and vendors. Amazon BDL4 and King of Dings Paintless Dent Repair served as the presenting sponsors, and other major supporters included Goff Law Group, Anthony’s Abatement, NBT Bank, Fuchs Financial and PeoplesBank. Golfers enjoyed multiple on-course contests and activities, and the team of Toby Bianco, Steve Brouse, Craig Champigny and Jon Stein took the top spot with a score of 13 under par.

“We welcomed over 50 individual and business sponsors representing a diverse array of industries and occupations,” said Board Chairman Matt Heller. “As a small, volunteer-led organization, we rely on this level of dedication, year-after-year, to make our work possible.”
